Sell Price Options

Specifying a sell price every time a part is issued is too labour intensive; therefore, there needs to be some automation. Some software programs allow you to specify a mark up for all your parts; however, you probably don't want to mark up an engine as much as an O-ring. Other programs allow you to specify a sell price for each part, but that means constantly reviewing all of your sell prices as your costs change.

WinAir goes a step further with sell price options; in fact, we have built a great deal of flexibility into WinAir so that you can specifiy the sell price of a part when you issue it to a customer. For example, the master part number file lists every valid part number you are going to buy or sell. In the master list, you can specify how you want the sell price to be calculated when one of these parts is issued. You also have two options for every part number:

You can specify a Fixed Sell Price (the price which appears on the customer invoice whenever an item with this number is issued). You can also specifiy a Mark-Up Cost by a percentage that you specify for the part number (this way, you can mark up O-rings 50% and engines 10%).

With WinAir, if you issue an overhauled starter to an aircraft, the aircraft will automatically be invoiced the repair charge for the one removed. If you really want to charge for the issue, you also have that option.

WinAir Pro-SQL supports full multi-currency purchasing and invoicing and it has one more sell price option labelled US List for users whose primary currency is not US Dollars, but who wish to sell some parts at the US manufacturer's list price. Foreign Service Centers for US manufacturer's fall squarely into this category. At invoicing, the user can select the US List option and WinAir will use the US List price for all parts that have one. This will have no bearing on the currency selected for the invoice, if it is not US Dollars, then WinAir will convert the US List into invoice currency just as it does with other sell prices and repair charges.

Whatever sell price option you choose, your costs will not change and it will have no effect on cost reporting. In fact, if you leave both of the sell price fields blank in the master part record, sell price will default to cost automatically. If you don't have any customers and only maintain your own aircraft, you don't need to worry about sell price at all. Usually you won't need to worry about the sell price of repaired rotables when they are issued because repairs will be expensed to the aircraft from which the part was removed.

Price Information BoxWith WinAir Pro-SQL , the sell price of any part can be changed again at invoicing. WinAir displays an information box when a part is selected in the invoicing window. The box displays how the sell price for the part was arrived at, default issue price or US List. It also lists the exchange rate if the invoice and sell price currency are different.

You have one last chance to over-ride the calculated sell price before generating the invoice. And with WinAir Pro-SQL, you can even apply a discount to all of the parts on the invoice right before you save and print it. Sound complicated? Many of these subjects are if you really start thinking about them, but WinAir has it covered.
